park spaces, urban greenhouses, courtesy of Scott Parker, and in rural areas, through the generosity of farm owners, Joyce Mims of Hidden Havens Farm, Union Pier Mi, and Carzella Pritchett of Karaal Farm, Dawson IL.

Hidden Haven Farm, Union Pier MI

Located 70 miles from Chicago, we have five rural acres of land to produce a variety of crops, a pond, a programming and meeting site. The site provides year round housing for our chickens, geese and ducks. Two barns allow us to dry garlic before market sale

Karaal Farm, Dawson, IL

Located a short distance from Springfield, IL, we have sheep, goats and poultry. Future plans are to learn to spin goat hair and sheep

wool to enable us to process our own yarns. Ms. Pritchett is trained in Botany, Agronomy, and Soils.

Animals and poultry from these locations are ‘passed along’ to other farm groups at no charge to enable them to start their herds.

Urban Farm South

Located in Chicago’s South Shore Community and accessible by public transportation. Two Greenhouses provide year round growth opportunity.

Roseland Farm

Roseland is the God’s Gang main program and demonstration site. Seeds are started here in February and transplanted to other sites in May. Seed and potting demonstrations, worm bed

creation and other classes are held here.

65th Street Urban Farm

Backyard site for 6 years is operated by household of several visually impaired families. After four years of expansion and increased production, 2007 marked their entry into the entrepreneurial field, selling surplus at 2 city markets. They are growing produce and supplementing their family dinner tables, and some their finances, thru sale of surplus vegetables. Serves as a demonstration site of the average home owner.

Jackson Park Urban Farm located in the heart of the Southside of Woodlawn community, accessible by public transportation. 2008 marked the second year that we had an allocation of secured space. Used as one of the training sites for our After School Matters Urban Farm Program

Hidden Haven Farm, in Union Pier Michigan, seventy miles from Chicago, Planting Dreams offers families the opportunity to establish micro-farm enterprises.
